Set up VPN on OSX

NOTE: The VPN is not needed while in SESYNC and utilizing the “sesync-private” Wireless Network

  • ​Authentication for the SeSynC VPN is handled using your SESYNC Credentials, the same Username/password used to access Email.
  • Follow the steps below to setup and connect to the SESYNC VPN for access to internal resources
  • NOTE: you must first be on network (Wireless or Wired) before attempting to connect to the SESYNC VPN

To Add VPN to OSX machine:

  • Click the Apple logo in the top right and select “System Preferences”

  • ​Select “Network” from the list of preferences

  • In the Bottom left, right above the padlock Select the + sign to add a new network connection

  • Under Interface select VPN
  • Under VPN Type select PPTP
  • Enter a Description under Service Name such as SESYNC VPN

  • Under Server Address enter winvpn.sesync.org
  • Under Account Name enter your SESYNC username
  • Click Advanced at the bottom right

  • Ensure that the Send all traffic over VPN connection Checkbox is selected
  • Click OK

  • Ensure that “Show VPN status in menu bar” checkbox is selected
  • Click Apply to apply all settings

  • To connect to the VPN select the icon highlighted below and select Connect to SESYNC VPN or similar
  • Enter your SESYNC Password
  • Click OK
